“Real world survey” of hydrogen-controlled cancer: a follow-up report of 82 advanced cancer patients

The study found that hydrogen inhalation therapy led to improvements in patients’ quality of life, physical fitness, and control of cancer progression. It resulted in reductions in tumor markers and tumor size, particularly in lung cancer patients.

The study followed 82 advanced cancer patients who received oxyhydrogen inhalation therapy. It included both retrospective investigation and prospective follow-up, with assessments conducted over a period of 3 to 46 months.

Patients reported significant improvements in various aspects of quality of life, including reductions in fatigue, insomnia, anorexia, and pain. Improvement in physical status was observed in 41.5% of patients, with the most significant effects seen in lung cancer patients.

After 3 months of hydrogen inhalation therapy, 42% of patients showed improvement in physical condition, 34% showed stability, and 24% showed deterioration. The greatest improvement in physical fitness was observed in lung cancer patients.

Before hydrogen treatment, 58 patients had elevated tumor markers. Three months after hydrogen treatment, tumor markers were decreased in 36% of patients, with the most significant reductions observed in patients with lung cancer.

Among the 80 patients with tumors before enrollment, one showed complete response (CR), 15 showed partial response (PR), 30 showed stable disease (SD), and 34 showed progressive disease after 3 months of hydrogen inhalation treatment, resulting in a disease control rate of 57.5%.

The findings suggest that hydrogen therapy may offer a promising adjunctive treatment for advanced cancer patients, providing improvements in quality of life and potentially controlling cancer progression. Further research is needed to validate and optimize hydrogen therapy protocols.
